Session Description: This presentation will introduce kinesiology—the study of human movement—to attendees. Our speaker will discuss functional fitness and the differences between physical therapy and kinesiology. Participants will learn how kinesiology is used in a medical or holistic practice. As well, we will explore how kinesiology is used in the treatment of acute and chronic medical conditions.
Bio: Becky attained her master’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Texas in 2010. She currently works as the healthcare documentation program manager at Carrus/Career Step. She has been a lifelong fitness enthusiast as well as a yoga instructor. Her desire to teach functional fitness and understand the nuances of movement led her down this advanced degree pathway.
