Title: Cancer Registries—Telling the Story of a Cancer Patient’s Journey

Presenter: Vicki Hawhee, MEd, CTR

CEC: 1 Professional Development (PD)

Session Description: Cancer registries have been around for many years, but many people do not know what they are or what they are used for. Attend this webinar to learn the multiple purposes cancer data is used for, what information must be reported to the state central cancer registry and the National Cancer Database, and how the data is reported. The electronic medical record is the source for all of the submitted data. Understand why it is imperative that the data from all states is accurate and coded using the same rules. This presentation will highlight the processes included in telling the story of a patient’s cancer journey.
