Title: Technology as a Tool to Support Physician and APP Well-Being

Session Description: This 1-hour webinar will offer background information about the burden of EMR workload and documentation on the clinician. It will explore solutions to reduce documentation burden including asynchronous scribe technology and artificial intelligence-based documentation tools. Namely, data will be shared from a pilot of primary care physicians at Corewell Health west who have been using the Nuance Dragon Ambient Experience tool. Outcomes include effects on productivity and throughput of patients, EMR documentation burden and work outside of work metrics, and patient perception and satisfaction.

Bio: Kristin Jacob, MD, has served as Medical Director of the Office of Physician and APP Fulfillment since 2019. She practices outpatient Internal Medicine-Pediatrics at the SHMG Rockford practice where she is also the site lead physician. She is also a certified master physician development coach. Dr. Jacob completed her medical degree at Indiana University and her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners in 2016. Her personal wellness endeavors include biking, running, and other outdoor activities with her husband and three children.
