Speaker: Jerome S Blackman, MD, FIPA
Description:
Eating disorders can result from conflicts with parents, physical illnesses, social pressures, grief, damaged impulse control, or delusional thinking. Approximately 40-50% of adults in the U.S. have an eating disorder.
This presentation will address the multiple factors during child and adolescent development and distinguish among them. Attendees will learn more about these disturbances and what can be done to cure the problems, or not, depending on multiple variables. Brief (disguised) clinical stories will illustrate each point. After attending this presentation, the participant should know more about eating disorders and what can be done to prevent them and to treat them.
