Sheila has nearly 25 years of experience in healthcare documentation and is dedicated to maintaining document integrity. Since 2017, she has held the role of Interim CEO at AHDI, where she champions excellence in healthcare documentation and supports all professionals committed to ensuring the accuracy of medical records. Sheila was instrumental in developing the first clinician-created documentation integrity auditing program at Corewell Health in Grand Rapids, MI, a role she held after her time as HIM Transcription Supervisor. With patient advocacy always top of mind, Sheila encourages everyone to actively engage with their medical records to improve health awareness, prevent medical errors, and achieve optimal healthcare outcomes.

Stacy Lehto, CHDS, CRCR, AHDI-F Related Seminars and Products
Corewell Health
Stacy Lehto, CHDS, CRCR, AHDI-F, brings 28 years of experience in the medical transcription and healthcare documentation field. Throughout her career, she has held various roles, including Transcriptionist, QA Specialist, QA Auditor, and Senior Healthcare Documentation Quality Analyst. She is currently a Project Manager at Corewell Health.
Stacy has been an active leader within the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI), serving on its Board of Directors from 2019 to 2023, including a term as President from 2021 to 2022. She was re-elected to the Board in 2023 and is serving as AHDI President for the 2024–2025 term.
Her involvement with AHDI extends beyond board service. She has contributed to numerous committees and task forces, including the Program Committee, Virtual Conference Strategy Task Force, and the Nominating Committee. She also served as Chair of the Product Development Committee. Stacy played a key role in the development of several AHDI resources, including contributing to the Strategic and Business Planning Skills e-book and helping to create the Clinician-Created Documentation: Reinstating Quality Assurance Programs to Safeguard Patients and Providers toolkit.
Earlier in her career, Stacy worked as a copy editor for several of Stedman’s word books, including the Medical Transcription Skill Builder series.
