WHAT ATTENDEES ARE SAYING

"Wow, what a phenomenal talk! We were in the presence of a real master of the subject. Bravo, Laura!" - Carolyn P.

Title: Anatomy of the CBC - The Role of Red and White Cell Morphology in Diagnostic Workups

Presenter: Laura Bryan, MS, CHDS, AHDI-F

Credit: 1 Clinical Medicine

Session Description: Holy schistocytes! Poikilocytosis and anisocytosis, nRBCs and retics! Have you encountered these terms? What do they mean? What are the implications? This presentation will provide a detailed description of one of the most performed laboratory tests: the complete blood count (CBC) with differential. The CBC is used to screen for a multitude of medical conditions, and alone it is rarely diagnostic of any single disease or disorder, but it points the way to more targeted diagnostic studies. We will review abnormal cellular morphology of red and white cells and the associated pathology. Finally, we will discuss new targeted and biological treatments for hematological disorders. Please join us for deep dive into hematology and the vital role of the CBD with diff.
