She holds a master’s degree in Human Resource Development and has participated in the creation, implementation, and refinement of quality and accuracy programs across various documentation methods—including traditional transcription, provider-entered notes using voice recognition and Epic SmartTools, and most recently, AI-generated documentation.

Shelly Gorder is a Supervisor within Health Information Management Services (HIMS) at Mayo Clinic. With over 31 years of experience in the health information field, Shelly began her career as a medical transcriptionist and has advanced through a variety of quality and management roles. She holds an Associate’s degree from Rochester Community and Technical College and is a credentialed Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). Shelly has contributed to numerous initiatives, including implementation of dictation, transcription, and speech recognition programs, as well as the configuration of two different EHR systems. In her current role, she oversees provider documentation operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in documentation.

Becky Stahr, CHDS, is a Provider Documentation Specialist at Mayo Clinic with over 22 years of experience in various aspects of healthcare documentation, most recently AI-generated documentation. Becky has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Iowa State University and a Medical Transcription Certificate from Rochester Community and Technical College. Becky is currently serving her third year as Director and Treasurer of the AHDI Board and serves on the Executive Committee and as Board Liaison for the Webinar Task Force.
