Description: This session will focus on the evaluation and treatment of COVID-19 long-haul symptoms, also known as post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC). We will discuss long-haul symptoms through the lens of a patient case and learn about their journey to return to health. We will discuss the benefits of a multidisciplinary, rehabilitative approach to treatment of long-haul symptoms. Additionally, we will discuss benefits of vaccination as a modality to prevent long-haul symptoms.
Attendees will:
1. Have a working understanding of COVID-19 long-haul pathology.
2. Understand the benefits of COVID-19 vaccination for prevention of acute COVID as well as long-haul symptoms.
3. Understand the benefits of a team-based approach to the treatment of long-haul symptoms.
4. Understand benefits of team-based multidisciplinary approach to assessment and treatment of other chronic pathologies.

Adam Pepper has worked as a physician assistant for 10 years in primary care. He has been the director of APPs for Primary Health at Spectrum Health for the past 2 years. He is the clinical lead for the Spectrum Health COVID-19 Long Haul Clinic that opened in February 2022.
