In this webinar, members of AHDI’s Managers/Supervisors Alliance will share not only how to manage remotely but also how to build strong teams by engaging them in collaborative goal-setting and achievement. Learn how to be a strong leader in today’s virtual environment. Gain insight on how to build the trust that is essential between the team’s members as well as between the remote worker and management. Join us as we explore ideas and offer tools that may improve existing skillsets in managing remote staff.

Bios: Patt King is manager of HIM Transcription for Tucson Medical Center, a 600-bed acute care, not-for-profit community hospital serving Southern Arizona. Patt is experienced in all aspects of transcription, having served as a transcriptionist, independent contractor/small business owner, speech editor, lead, trainer, quality assurance specialist, supervisor, and manager over her 30+ years in the profession. Patt was involved in the creation of AHDI's Compensation Best Practices Toolkit in 2015, was co-chair of the Back-End Speech Recognition Implementation Best Practices Toolkit in 2016 and the QA Best Practices Task Force in 2017, and is currently the chair of AHDI's Managers-Supervisors Alliance.  
 
Joyce Smith, AHDI-F, is manager of HIM Healthcare Documentation Services at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Spectrum Health is a large integrated teaching healthcare system with 12 hospitals, a 1,600+ physician medical group, and a health plan serving western Michigan. Joyce has served on the NLB as Director-at-Large and is the current AHDI President-elect. She has served many years on the AHDI Managers/Supervisors Alliance and has also participated in numerous task force projects over the years.  
 
Daysha Weller, RHDS, AHDI-F, is the transcription manager for Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri. Mosaic Life Care is a Malcom Baldridge Award-winning, 400+ bed community hospital with a network of over 60 clinics. The facility was just named one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades, placing them in the top 1% of hospitals in the nation. Daysha has served in several roles with AHDI including Credentialing Commission, Managers/Supervisors Alliance, and New Professionals Alliance, where she helped develop the RHDS Study Course. She has helped form several AHDI Best Practice toolkits, including Compensation, Back-End Speech Recognition Implementation, and QA.
