Title: How to Become an Effective and Efficient Auditor

Presenter: Stacy Lehto, CHDS, AHDI-F

Credit: 1 Professional Development

Session Description: As technology evolves and providers begin doing their own documentation within EHRs, the need for independent review of these documents has become increasingly more apparent. This is where auditors come into play. In this session, I will describe what an auditor of provider-created documentation does and the role they play in preserving document integrity and helping prevent medical errors. I will highlight the skills an auditor needs to be efficient and effective with their job, as QA and productivity standards need to be met. I will also touch on what an auditor can do to help hone and expand their skills to stay relevant in this ever-changing field.
