Title: Telehealth in the Post-COVID Healthcare System
Presenter: Robert Havasy, MS
Credit: 1 Technology & Tools (TT)
Session Description: Telehealth, and all forms of virtual care, saw unprecedented growth during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic. While patient volumes soon returned to levels closer to pre-pandemic, telehealth was firmly cemented in healthcare organizations’ future plans. However, there is no clear best path forward for most organizations.
The industry is facing multiple potential reimbursement paths, difficult decisions about what technology to adopt, and competition from direct-to-consumer providers. Headlines about some of the largest telehealth companies, such as Teledoc, have painted a difficult picture for segments of the industry, leaving provider organizations searching for guidance.
This discussion will help anyone contemplating or currently deploying telehealth technologies to understand the broader market and make some educated guesses about the future to help make better decisions today.
