Session Description:

There are few skills more critical to personal and professional development than the ability to communicate well, particularly in writing. For the person who invests their time and effort into the development of a robust palate of words and an artistry with language, communication opportunities are a blank and inviting canvas. Without the right material to work with, however, one can stare at the “canvas” of a blank screen with great anxiety, uncertain how to best express what needs to be communicated. Whether that canvas is an important email, a job resume, an article, a blog post or a white paper, the ability to shape language, craft story, and engage a reader is a powerfully useful and highly marketable skill. In this webinar, you’ll receive insights, practical strategies and takeaways for improving both your everyday writing and the specialized content you may want or need to write for personal or business use.

What you’ll learn:

· Techniques and strategies for better diction and stronger sentences
· How to know when less is more—self-editing for leaner, tighter text
· Why outlines and multiple-draft editing should be a consistent writing habit
· How to overcome writer’s block, tap into writing prompt strategies, and get unstuck from “screen stare”
· Making business writing more dynamic and creative and still sound professional
· How to transform your resume into a story that makes people want to know and hire you
