Throughout her career, she has held various roles, including Transcriptionist, QA Specialist, QA Auditor, and Senior Healthcare Documentation Quality Analyst. She is currently a Project Manager at Corewell Health.
Stacy has been an active leader within the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI), serving on its Board of Directors from 2019 to 2023, including a term as President from 2021 to 2022. She was re-elected to the Board in 2023 and is serving as AHDI President for the 2024–2025 term.
Her involvement with AHDI extends beyond board service. She has contributed to numerous committees and task forces, including the Program Committee, Virtual Conference Strategy Task Force, and the Nominating Committee. She also served as Chair of the Product Development Committee. Stacy played a key role in the development of several AHDI resources, including contributing to the Strategic and Business Planning Skills e-book and helping to create the Clinician-Created Documentation: Reinstating Quality Assurance Programs to Safeguard Patients and Providers toolkit.
Earlier in her career, Stacy worked as a copy editor for several of Stedman’s word books, including the Medical Transcription Skill Builder series.

Patt King, CHDS, CHDP, AHDI-F, is the current AHDI President for the 2023-2024 year. She has been the manager of a team of healthcare documentation specialists at Tucson Medical Center (TMC) in Tucson, Arizona, for the past 11 years. Patt is also a former AHDI President. Most recently, she co-chaired the Best Practices Task Force that created AHDI’s new Healthcare Documentation Integrity Auditing (HDIA) Implementation Best Practices Guide. She has also served as a lead or co-lead on several other AHDI projects over the years. Patt’s team at TMC worked in traditional medical transcription for many years then transitioned to healthcare documentation integrity auditing for both acute care and radiology in 2019. This forward-thinking team is now transitioning to pre-services medical necessity analysis in which they will use their valuable skills as HDSs on behalf of TMC’s Revenue Cycle to reduce insurance payor denials.

The MAAP Plan helps community members navigate their pet's journey when they can’t care for it.

Dr. McConkey received her undergraduate degree from St. Mary's College of Maryland and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She started by volunteering in wildlife rescues and animal shelters as soon as she was old enough to do so. Dr. McConkey's family moved overseas while she was in high school, and she worked as a zookeeper while abroad. Dr. McConkey is comfortable seeing a wide range of species because of these experiences. The 2025 Healthcare Documentation Integrity Virtual Conference (HDIVC25) has been approved for 13-14 CECs for the 4-day conference. There are 17 sessions and 2 social activities. You will receive a certificate for each credit-worthy session once you have viewed 85% or more, whether live or on-demand after the conference.
