Roger D. Cole, MD, MA, FACS


Dr. Cole recently retired after 30 years of active clinical practice as an otolaryngologist/head and neck surgeon. He completed his medical and surgical training at Bowman Gray School of Medicine and North Carolina Baptist Hospital. After completing his military service in the United States Navy, Roger was in private practice otolaryngology for 12 years in Hickory, North Carolina. He joined the Veteran Health Administration in 2009 was selected by the Veterans Administration to complete a Clinical Medical Ethics Fellowship at the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics at the University of Chicago in May of 2011. He completed his Master of Arts degree in Bioethics from Wake Forest University in 2013. He has taught medical ethics to medical students and residents at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, and throughout the Veterans Health Administration.
