Description
We all will be a patient at some point in time. How do we make sure our values are identified, decisions are respected, and the burdens placed on our family members at the end of our lives are minimized? This presentation will identify the medical ethics issues related to end-of-life care. We will discuss how our personal values influence the decisions that must be made regarding our medical care. Real-life examples will be used to demonstrate practical methods for navigating these decisions with patients and family members. Techniques to mitigate conflict at end-of-life care will also be presented and discussed.
