Danielle Alexander is a school counselor at South Hills High School in West Covina, California. This is her 15th year counseling in the high school setting, and she has helped thousands of students through challenging life trials to become healthy and successful young adults. She earned her B.A. in Communications & Psychology from California State University, Fullerton, and her M.A. in Educational Counseling at Azusa Pacific University. Caleb Bupp, MD, FACMG, is pediatrics-trained, board-certified medical geneticist practicing with Spectrum Health West Michigan and Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He serves as the Division Chief of Medical Genetics and Genomics. He is also an assistant professor at Michigan State University, where he was named a Pediatric Master Series Teacher. He is the chairperson of the Genomics Committee at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital and the Spectrum Health Institutional Biosafety Committee, as well as serving on the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Research Advisory Council. He is the chair of the State of Michigan’s Newborn Screen Quality Assurance Advisory Committee and a member of the Make-A-Wish Medical Advisory Council for the State of Michigan. 

Dr. Bupp received his bachelor of science in molecular biology from Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania, and his medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in Ohio. He completed a pediatrics residency at the University of Louisville in Kentucky and his medical genetics training at the Greenwood Genetic Center in South Carolina.
His clinical interests include intellectual disability, genetics education, and rare syndromes. He has authored multiple journal articles and textbook chapters in the field of genetics. Recently, he helped describe a new treatable genetic syndrome caused by ODC1 mutations now termed Bachmann-Bupp syndrome. He has been an invited speaker for many conferences and events locally and nationally.

She enjoys working with students to help them recognize their potential and make tangible plans for the future. She has a son who will be starting high school in the fall and understands the importance of helping children navigate and process the impact the pandemic has on their lives.

Dr. Cathy Kemper-Pelle is the president of Rogue Community College, where she has served since 2016. She began her post-secondary education at a community college and was able to complete multiple college degrees and rise through the leadership ranks despite many personal roadblocks along the way. Her experience leading healthcare initiatives in privacy and security has spanned over 15 years. Dr. Kevin Nelson is a neuromuscular neurologist in Lexington, Kentucky, and is affiliated with University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, and is board certified by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Neuromuscular Medicine. He spends a lot of his time teaching residents how to perform and interpret nerve conduction studies and EMG. He is a noted expert on therapeutic botulinum toxin injection. She was Editor-in-Chief of the association’s two clinical/technical journals and authored the Book of Style for Medical Transcription, 3rd edition, the standards manual used by clinical documentation specialists globally. She has been a credentialed documentation specialist since 1995 and spent the first ten years of her career in acute care clinical documentation as owner/operator of AccuTranz Medical Transcription Svcs. She also taught anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and medicolegal fundamentals as an allied health professor for Florida State College at Jacksonville. Lea lives in Green Cove Springs, Florida, with her firefighter/paramedic husband and three kids.

Deepak Talreja, MD, a Virginia Beach native, completed his undergraduate education (1993) and medical school at the University of Virginia (1997). He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville (2000) and a Clinical Cardiology Fellowship (2003), as well as an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship (2004) at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is the director of the cardiovascular division and cardiac catheterization laboratory at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital and helped start the Structural Heart program at Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. He serves on the faculty of Eastern Virginia Medical School. He is also the director of the Sentara Cardiology Lipid Clinic. His special medical interests include transcatheter valve replacement, coronary revascularization, and closure of patent foramen ovale. He has extensive training and expertise in echocardiography, nuclear imaging, valvular heart disease, and preventative cardiology.
